WEEKEND SPINS - Cold Snap returns
The cold weather and state of the roads has been dictating the
routes for club spins recently.
On Saturday club members took the main road to Castlemartyr and turned, coming
home via Clashmore and Mount Stuart. Sunday's spin brought riders the other
direction on the N25 as far as Kilmeaden before turning for home.Weekend
spins will continue to meet at John Foley’s Kilrush on Saturday and The Square
on Sunday, both at 9.30am.

WEEKEND SPINS
We finally got a
respite from the atrocious recent weather and as a result of the springlike
conditions there were big turnouts for the club spins at the weekend.
Saturday's spin went to
Tallow, Youghal and home on the main road.
Sunday saw a large
crowd assemble in The Square and riders split into a few groups. Two groups
headed west on the main road with cyclists turning at Youghal, Killeagh or
Castlemartyr. Another group headed for Cappagh and Affane with some riders
going on to Lismore. Weekend
spins will continue to meet at John Foley’s Kilrush on Saturday and The Square
on Sunday, both at 9.30am.

It was good to see more
new faces this week after a month of rest. Remember: whatever pace you want to
set, we'll bring you along. Stick with it once a week for 10 weeks and your
fitness level will improve quite a lot. The key to improvement is consistency.
Tell your friends and bring them along with you.

Beginner tip: do not try to cycle at someone else's pace. If you do, you will
manage for a while, but you will tire quickly. Cycle your own pace, and keep it
up regularly to improve.

WEEKEND SPINS
It was another quiet
weekend on the roads thanks to the weather. Some members did manage to get out
and escape the cabin fever though. Hopefully there's a thaw on the way and
we'll be back to normal service this coming weekend. Weekend spins will continue
to meet at John Foley’s Kilrush on Saturday and The Square on Sunday, both at
9.30am.

HOLIDAY/WEEKEND
SPINS
The lengthy cold snap
disrupted many training plans over the Christmas break. Because of the freezing
conditions the time of the group spins was moved to 11am, and although not much
warmer by then there were still groups of dedicated cyclists on the roads most
days. Some of us found other diversions in Quality Street and darts however.
Weekend spins will
continue to meet at John Foley’s Kilrush on Saturday and The Square on Sunday,
both at 9.30am.
