Wednesday 02/04/08 was the start of the Liam Rossiter Meats Individual "Predict Your Time" Time trial. There was a great turn out of 19 riders on what can only be called a perfect night for cycling, it was bright, dry with only a slight breeze. After the initial conversations and trying to suss out the oppoition it was time to officially put your time down on paper, a few people were psyched out when seeing the times of others but once the first person was off ( Good man Brian) it was down to business and it was all in your own hands.
Dzintars went closest and was only out by 1 second, doesn't get much better than that, next was Damian out by 3 seconds, must be all that race training they're doing - finally honed precision machines and all that, next then was Tony O'Mahony at 7 seconds, experience counts for a lot.
It was great to see some of the faces on bikes that we haven't seen in a while, Benny, Brett and Spider and hopefully we'll see Brian out for a few more spins

It's great to see another good turnout for the event, to start off I'd like to thank our timekeeper & organiser Enda who wishes he'd could be out cycling and who once he gets over his bout of illness will be back on the bike to show us how it's done.
We welcomed 6 newcomers to the series this week, Emma Walsh, Frank O'Rourke, John Seward, Michael Curran, Liam Rossitor and Tony Murray, this was Tony's second attempt to make it to the league, good to see he made it this time.
This week once again it was near perfect conditions with only a slight headwind heading out the road towards the Whitechurch turnoff, and with the coverage coming in the Bog road it then negates the tailwind.
Winner on the night was Padraig De Búrca out by just 5 seconds, was he lucky or is he in to his stride now, next was Mark Power, keeping the flag flying for the racers, in third was Benny Flynn on his new OMK bike, nearly knocking a minute off his previous weeks time, money well spent I'd say.

Good to see 2 more new faces this week for the Liam Rossiter "Predict Your Time" Time Trial, Jason Travers and Ed Kelly. For this league it is your best 4 times that count so that you can miss one night and still be in the running, the table is really starting to shape up now. Once again the actual times of the winners were very close to the predicted times, With Benny and Colin being 4 and 7 seconds out respectively , on their new bikes, (conspiracy theories may be forwarded on to myself) and with our domiciled Oz doc Brett in third, out only by 8 seconds. There was a good tail wind all the way out to the Whitechuch turn but you paid for it coming back the Bog road with the severe head wind, a lot of slower times this week. Once again thanks to timekeepers and photographers Enda and Padraig, good to see Enda is giving it a shot next week. Two more weeks to go, check the combined times in the 2008 folder "Whitechurch PYT".

LIAM ROSSITER INDIVIDUAL PREDICT YOUR TIME COMPETION
A turnout of 15 riders was good for the fourth week of the Liam Rossiter Meats Individual "Predict Your Time" Competition. It was another breezy Wednesday night but we are getting used to them at this stage. It was good to see another new face and we would all like to welcome Pa Power to the ranks. It was thought predictions couldn’t get much better than the previous weeks but Tony O’Mahony & Frank Browne proved us wrong with both riders hitting their predicted times spot on. Third on the night was Damian Travers at 18 seconds out. Next Wednesday is the last night of this 5-week competition and looking at the overall tables any of up to 7 riders could take the overall prize but Dzintar’s Klava would have to be the bookies favourite.
Last week was the final night of the competition and the overall winner’s title was up for grabs. Frank Browne rode a great race on the last night finishing just 33 seconds out to take the title from long time favourite Dzintar’s Klava. Frank is an experienced campaigner and used his knowledge of the route and the winds to finish just 1 minute 19 seconds outside his predicted time for his four best nights. Congratulations to frank from all at the club. Second overall was a delighted Dzintar’s Klava with third place overall going to Damien Travers. Congratulations to all. The full results for all riders qualified for the overall competition are listed below.
