BRIAN TRUMAN SECURES ANOTHER WIN IN O’MAHONY CYCLES AND NURSERY SUMMER SERIES
Brian Truman won his third victory to out sprint Hugh Mulhearn, 2nd and Keith Walsh 3rd, last Wednesday in the 6th week of The Summer Series. Damien Travers and Mark Power(DCC) were 4th and 5th respectively taking up the remaining extra points. A number of attacks took place on the road in from The Welcome Inn after the scratch bunch caught the rest of the fieldand the rest of the finishers were fairly scattered by the line.
There are now just two weeks to go. Because of the fairness of the points system any one of a number of people can still win the overall competition. Thanks once again to our sponsors Tony and Siobhan from O’Mahony Cycles and Nursery, Abbeyside.
MARK RADLEY GOAL CHARITY SPIN
Club member Mark Radley is doing a charity spin with friends for GOAL. He is starting in Belgium and cycling across southern England arriving in Roslare on Friday evening 29th June. The final section of the journey to Dungarvan is on Saturday 30th June and Dungarvan CC is planning to meet him on the way, travelling back to the Park Hotel for refreshments in the afternoon. Departure is at the usual time of 9.30am from John Foley’s and all being well we will meet him on the far side of Waterford.
Mark was involved in our earlier club charity spin in May, and it would be good to see a large turn out to support him.
NATIONAL TIME TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS FRIDAY
Preparations are now finalised for this prestigious event-details of which appear above. The quality of entrants is outstanding and everyone with an interest in seeing elite sports persons in action should make their way to The Burgery, Lemybrien, Kilmacthomas and the Pike Hill which will all be good vantage points, from 7pm this Friday.

MARK POWERS TO VICTORY IN O’MAHONY CYCLES AND NURSERY SUMMER SERIES
Mark Power (DCC) sprinted to a fine win last Wednesday in the 5th event of The Summer Series. He was followed in by Brett Lynam in 2nd and, John Flynn 3rd. Brian Whyte and Keith Radley were 4th and 5th respectively taking up the remaining extra points. This group of five cyclists all left together, caught the front groups and then cycled hard with some of those cyclists to hold off the scratch bunch and fight it out for the points.
The point’s table is still close with just three weeks to go. Because of the fairness of the points system any one of the top 14 people can still win the overall competition. Thanks once again to our sponsors Tony and Siobhan from O’Mahony Cycles and Nursery, Abbeyside.

DAMIEN TRAVERS CLAIMS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP IN TIME TRIAL SPONSORED BY NEW IMAGES HAIR SALON
Damien Travers took first place in the second Annual Club Championship last Wednesday when he beat Justin Coonan by the narrowest of margins. Just 0.2 of a second separated the first two places with Enda Donnelly a close third. The B grade was won by Brett Lynam and Frank O'Rourke took the honours in the C grade.
The event took place in a stiff head wind and the competitors found the flat 5.8km course a tough one. Thanks to our generous sponsor Nicola Dee of New Images Hair Salon in O’Connell St. who has sponsored the event the past two years. Prizes were awarded in all three divisions last week along with spot prizes for non-winners. The Perpetual Cup will be presented at the Club AGM.
