Ger Wyley Sports Whitechurch Team Time Trial

The 4th annual Whitechurch Team Time Trial competition takes place once again this year 2007, commencing on Wednesday August 8th for four consecutive Wednesdays. Teams of four will be announced in advance, and each team will predict their time to cycle our familiar Whitechurch route, commencing at Kilrush. All four cyclists must finish together. We are grateful to Ger Wyley Sports for sponsorship of this exciting competition. Cyclists are not permitted to wear a watch. You are further prohibited from using your cycle computer, and you may not carry a mobile phone! As with other competitive club events, you MUST wear a helmet. The first team of four will start at exactly 7:00 pm, and other teams will start at two-minute intervals. Each team MUST stay together, and must finish together.

  • Assemble at Kilrush on the first night at 6:30pm to register.

  • The registration fee is €20.00 for the entire team. This fee covers all four evenings of competition.

  • Only members who indicated in advance that they were available to participate have been included on these teams.

  • However, if you are available on any of the four nights, you may participate...we will fit you into one of the teams, or create a further team if necessary.

  • The winner on the night will be the team closest to its predicted time (inside or outside)

  • The overall winner will be the team with the smallest time-difference totalled over the four weeks.

  • Previous winners:
  • 2004: Jim Meehan, Pádraig de Búrca, Vincent Tutty and Eoin Whyte
  • 2005: Brett Lynam, Ray Dwyer, Tony Murray and Davy Tobin
  • 2006: Tony Murray, Dane Power, John Flynn. 2nd win for Tony Murray.
  • 2007:

Members who hold cycling licences from other clubs will be most welcome to participate in this competition. Any beginner cyclists may participate for three nights only, after which you must take out a Cycling Ireland licence and club membership if you intend continuing.

HELMETS MUST BE WORN.
