Our competitive cycling season for 2007 begins on Wednesday, April 11 for four consecutive weeks, on our familiar 15-mile Whitechurch circuit. This competition was inaugurated in 2005, and is kindly sponsored by Rossiter's Finest Quality Meats. This is a “Predict-your-Time” competition, and clocks or other timepieces are not allowed on your bike or person. Simply estimate how long it will take you to complete the course, and the person closest to their predicted time is the winner on the night. The winner of the overall 4-week competition will be the rider whose four total times are closest to his/her predicted times.
Sign-on every Wednesday is at Kilrush at 6:15pm, and it is our intention to have the first rider off at exactly 6:30pm. Subsequent riders will be set off at 30-second intervals.
Newcomers will be most welcome to try out this competition.
